Komodo Liveaboard 5D4N to 7D6N — Extended & Custom Voyages

Short answer. Anything from five nights upward on Catnazse is built to request rather than sold as a fixed itinerary. Whole-boat rates start at USD 10,100 for 5D4N in 2026 and the 2027 ladder runs all the way to 12D11N at USD 30,200 for one to twelve guests. Park fees are additional.

The three- and four-day itineraries exist because most visitors have a fixed window. Long charters exist for the opposite reason: because you do not. Once the schedule stops driving the boat, the trip changes shape — you sit longer at the reefs that turned out to be good, you go back to Manta Point on a second afternoon if the first was murky, and you stop treating Padar as an appointment.

What extra nights actually buy

Time, not distance

Catnazse cruises at seven to ten knots. A longer charter is not primarily a way to travel further — it is a way to stop travelling so much. On a three-day trip the boat is under way for a large share of the daylight; on a six-night charter it is not.

Second chances

Manta rays at Karang Makassar are wild and conditions vary by tide and plankton. On a short trip you get one afternoon. On a long one you can go back. The same logic applies to the Padar viewpoint in bad light and to any reef that happened to be churned up on the day.

Quieter anchorages

The standard route exists because it is efficient, not because it is the only good water in Flores. Longer charters can be routed toward less-visited bays by request, subject to park zoning and to what the weather that week allows.

What is fixed and what you can move

FixedFlexible
Komodo National Park zoning and permitted anchoragesDeparture date and return time
Ranger-guided treks on Komodo and RincaOrder and duration of every stop
Cruising speed of 7–10 knotsMeal times and menu direction, given advance notice
Charter maximum of 18 guestsRepeating a site instead of adding a new one
Park fees and any quota rules in forceWhether the trip is paced for snorkelling, photography or rest

Group size and the two price tiers

Every rate above has two columns because the vessel is priced in two bands: one to twelve guests, and thirteen to eighteen. Eighteen is the charter maximum. There is no per-person pricing on a private charter — the number in the table is the whole boat, so a group of four pays the same as a group of eleven. That is what makes longer charters sensible for families and small groups who would otherwise be paying twice for cabins they do not need.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no published day-by-day itinerary for 5D4N and longer?
Because the operator builds these routes to request. Once you are past four nights the sensible plan depends on your group, the wind that week and how much time you want at each reef, so publishing a fixed schedule would be a fiction. The building blocks are the same anchorages; the order and dwell time are yours.
How much is a five-night charter?
USD 10,100 for one to twelve guests in 2026, or USD 10,700 for thirteen to eighteen. The 2027 rate for the same duration is USD 12,500 and USD 14,000. Longer voyages run up the published ladder to 12D11N at USD 30,200 in 2027.
Can Catnazse sail beyond Komodo National Park?
Extended voyages are quoted by duration rather than by fixed destination, so the route is a conversation with the operator. What is fixed is the vessel’s cruising speed of seven to ten knots — plan any longer route around that rather than around a map.
Is a longer trip better value per night?
Per night, yes, on the 2026 table: 3D2N works out at roughly USD 3,550 a night for the whole boat, 7D6N at roughly USD 2,075. The 2027 table is steeper at the long end, so compare the year you are actually travelling in.
What is fixed and what is flexible on a long charter?
Fixed: park zoning, ranger-led activities on Komodo and Rinca, mooring rules and the vessel’s speed. Flexible: departure date, the order of stops, meal timing, how long you stay at any one site, and whether you repeat a favourite anchorage.
Does a longer voyage need more crew or cost more in fuel?
Both are already inside the quoted rate. The vessel carries 8,000 litres of fuel and 5,500 litres of fresh water, which is what makes multi-night autonomy practical in the first place.
