Catnazse Cabins & Suites — All 8 Cabins Compared (Santalum, Grandis, Cafasa)
Short answer. Catnazse has eight cabins, all on the main deck, all with a private en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. Only Santalum 1 and 2 have a king bed and a private balcony. Grandis 3 and 4 are the four-berth family cabins with porthole windows. Open-trip prices run USD 430 to USD 680 per person for 3D2N.
On a 34.4-metre boat, cabin choice is the decision that most affects how the trip feels. Not because any cabin is bad — the standard here is unusually even — but because the differences that exist are the ones you notice at six in the morning: whether you can see the anchorage from your bed, whether you can step outside without crossing the deck, and whether four of you are sharing one room.

Grandis 3 and 4 are priced by occupancy — USD 500 for two guests, USD 470 for three, USD 430 for four, with sharing rates of USD 470 and USD 450.
Santalum 1 and 2 — the balcony suites
These are the two premium cabins: king bed, sea view, and a private balcony that nothing else on board has. The practical value of the balcony is not the square metres, it is the ability to be outside alone. At Kalong, when the flying foxes lift off at dusk, and at Padar before the 06:00 tender, having your own bit of rail matters more than it sounds. Santalum 1 is USD 680 per person on a 3D2N open trip, Santalum 2 is USD 650 — the difference is position rather than specification. Couples should read the balcony suites for couples.
Grandis 1 and 2 — queen, sea view
The middle of the range. Queen bed, sea-view window, en-suite, air conditioning, no balcony, at USD 530 per person. For most couples this is the sensible cabin: you get the window that matters and skip the balcony premium.
Cafasa 1 and 2 — best value doubles
The same queen-bed, sea-view, en-suite specification as Grandis 1 and 2 at USD 490 per person, which makes these the cheapest private double cabins on the boat. They are the obvious pick for anyone who intends to spend the trip on deck and in the water rather than in their room.
Grandis 3 and 4 — the four-berth family cabins
Queen bed plus a bunk, up to four guests, porthole window, private en-suite. These two cabins are the reason Catnazse works for families: a parent and up to three children in one room, at USD 430 per person when all four berths are used. They are also where the solo-traveller sharing rates live, at USD 470 and USD 450. More on this in the four-berth family cabins.
Sea view or porthole — what it really means
A sea-view window sits at standing eye level, so you can look at the anchorage from inside the cabin. A porthole is a smaller round opening: it brings in daylight and it opens, but you do not get a view from the bed. At night, under way, with the curtains drawn, the two are indistinguishable. In the morning at anchor off Padar, they are not. If you are on board for two nights and plan to be outside for most of the daylight, the difference is worth less than USD 100 per person; if you are prone to seasickness and expect to spend time lying down, take the sea view.
