Where Catnazse sits in the Komodo market

Published market reporting for 2025 and 2026 is inconsistent, so this is a range and not a ranking. Budget open trips are commonly quoted at roughly USD 270 to USD 500 per person for 3D2N; mid-range to luxury departures at roughly USD 350 to USD 1,000. On the charter side, mid-range phinisi are reported at roughly USD 3,000 to USD 5,000 per night, with premium yachts well above that.

A Catnazse 3D2N charter at USD 7,100 works out at about USD 3,550 a night, which sits inside the mid-to-upper part of that band. What you are buying at that level is eight en-suite air-conditioned cabins on a 34.4-metre vessel with an indoor dining room, a lounge, a karaoke room and a sun deck, plus drone, GoPro and mirrorless documentation with the raw files included. We are not claiming to be the cheapest boat in Labuan Bajo, and there are more expensive ones.

Payment and changes

Deposit level, balance timing and the practice on date changes are set out in the written quotation from the booking desk. Ask for them in writing before transferring anything, and ask specifically what happens if weather forces a route change or a postponement — that is the clause that matters most in the windy window from late January to early March.

Komodo National Park fees are excluded here and everywhere else on this site. Because the tariff has been restated several times — reported bands run roughly IDR 150,000 to IDR 350,000 per person per day, more at weekends and on holidays — the desk quotes them in writing per departure date and route.

For the terms behind the charter column, see charter details; for what is currently free, see which dates are still open. Quotations and payment are handled through the operator’s booking desk.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Komodo liveaboard cost on Catnazse?
From USD 430 per person for a berth on a 3D2N open trip, or from USD 5,200 for the whole boat on a one-day charter in 2026. The most-booked format, a 3D2N private charter, is USD 7,100 for up to twelve guests in 2026.
Why are 2027 prices higher?
The operator publishes forward rates by year, and the 2027 ladder is both higher and longer, extending to twelve days. If your travel is in 2027, quote from the 2027 table rather than assuming the 2026 figure will hold.
Are these prices per person or per boat?
Charter prices are per boat, for the whole vessel and all eight cabins. Open-trip prices are per person, per cabin category.
What are the genuine extras?
National park fees, flights, drinks beyond water, coffee and tea, personal snacks, crew gratuities, and the optional Komodo National Park drone permit at an estimated IDR 2,100,000, which must be requested at least seven days ahead.
How does Catnazse compare with the wider Komodo market?
Published market reporting for 2025 and 2026 puts budget open trips at roughly USD 270 to USD 500 per person for 3D2N and mid-to-luxury at roughly USD 350 to USD 1,000, while mid-range phinisi charters run about USD 3,000 to USD 5,000 per night. A Catnazse 3D2N charter at USD 7,100 works out near USD 3,550 a night, which places it inside the mid-to-upper band rather than at either extreme. Sources disagree, so treat all of this as a range.
Is there a discount for a longer trip?
Not as a stated discount, but the per-night arithmetic improves with length on the 2026 table: about USD 3,550 a night at 3D2N against about USD 2,075 a night at 7D6N. The 2027 table is steeper, so check the year you are travelling.
How and when do I pay?
Deposit terms, the balance schedule and any date-change practice are confirmed in writing by the booking desk with your quotation. Ask for them explicitly rather than relying on what a third-party listing says.
Do prices change with the season?
The published tables are flat across the year; what changes with season is availability. Peak windows — July, August, and the Christmas and New Year period — sell out first, so the practical cost of waiting is losing the date, not paying more.
